Rally at the River
Little River Band will headline this year’s Budweiser Grand Nationals Rally on Saturday at Festival Park on the Peoria riverfront. Knowing the band formed in Australia, we were surprised to find that one member actually is returning to his roots; he lived right up the river in Rome for part of his childhood. Get the story – and festival details – in Thursday’s Cue section.
Island State of Mind
Jimmy Buffett tribute band The Boat Drunks, which was named 2008 band of the year by members of the Margarita Mafia (a fan group of the genre "tropical rock") will rock out at 8 p.m. Friday at CEFCU Center Stage on the Peoria riverfront. Admission is $7. For more information on other upcoming riverfront shows, visit Myspace.com/riverfrontevents.
Appetite for Inspection
Have you ever gleefully inhaled a mound of fast food only to wonder where, exactly, it came from? "Food, Inc." will give you a peek. And from what we hear, it ain’t pretty. Robert Kenner’s documentary about the U.S. food industry is playing at Peoria Independent Film and Event Center, 3225 N. Dries Lane. Call 202-2278 or visit PeoriaTheater.com for show times.
