STORMING THE SKIES
The Prairie Air Show, featuring aerial entertainment, educational displays and children’s activities, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and July 12 at Gen. Wayne A. Downing Peoria International Airport. Two-day passes are $18 for adults or $10 for children. A one-day pass is $12 for adults, $7 for children. Flight deck tickets are $45 per person. BLUES BROTHERS
The Avey Brothers will perform this week at the River City Blues Society’s Wednesday night series at Dragon’s Dome, 3401 Griffin Ave., Pekin. The Iowa-based blues band likely will perform songs from its latest album, "Devil in my Bed" (visit www.myspace.com/chrisaveyband for samples). The show starts at 7 p.m. Wednesday. A LITTLE BIT COUNTRY
The Heart of Illinois Fair kicks off with a ribbon-cutting at 4 p.m. Friday at Expo Gardens and runs through July 18. Fair hours are 10 a.m. to midnight Saturdays and Sundays and 4 p.m. to midnight weekdays. Admission is $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 6 through 12, and free for children younger than 6. DON’T MISS THE MULE
Wayne Haynes, pictured at right, and Gov’t Mule will perform Tuesday at CEFCU Center Stage at The Landing on the Peoria riverfront. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. (gates open at 5:30 p.m.). Admission is $22 at JayTV.com or by phone at (800) 514-ETIX, or $25 at the gate.
