The "world famous" Lipizzaner Stallions will bring the 40th anniversary tour of "Dancing with Horses" to the Peoria Civic Center arena at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Sept. 19.
Tickets are $28.50, $24.50 and $21.50 and are on sale now at the Peoria Civic Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at (800) 745-3000 and online at Ticketmaster.com.
The Lipizzaner Stallions were featured in the 1963 Disney movie, "The Miracle of the White Stallions," the true story about the breed’s rescue in 1945 during World War II.
The horses at the Spanish Riding School of Vienna were saved under the orders of Gen. George S. Patton, who was acquainted with the director of the school, Col. Alois Podjahsky.
The stallions will perform "a breathtaking ballet" of leaps and maneuvers known as the "Airs Above the Ground," which were born on the battlefield.
