Ballroom blitz
The Hub Ballroom in Edelstein will host a costume contest and night of karaoke Friday along with Hippie Radio 101.1. There’s a $250 cash prize for the best costume. Admission is $5. On Nov. 2, The Hub will host a ballroom dance with music from Princeton band Phaze, which will play everything from swing to polka to waltzes. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Komen special airs
"Skating for Life," a benefit for Susan G. Komen for the Cure filmed Oct. 15 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, aired Saturday on NBC. If you missed it, you can still catch it on the Style Network from 9 to 10 a.m. today, 3 to 4 p.m. Monday and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday. The show features skaters Sasha Cohen, Steven Cousins and Rudy Galindo, along with country music star Sara Evans. Olympic medalist Peggy Fleming hosts.
Modern art heist
The 1999 remake of 1968 hit "The Thomas Crown Affair" will be screened Saturday at the Apollo Theatre, 311 Main St. It stars Pierce Brosnan as a New Yorker who plans to steal a Monet painting and Renee Russo as the investigator who tracks him. It starts at 7 p.m. and features a musical opening by Edie Barnard. Tickets are $5 for adults, $4 for children, students and seniors. Call 673-4343.
He can’t stop his legs
Robert Klein, the first comedian ever to do a live comedy show for HBO, is still touring like mad, and he’s coming to Jukebox Comedy Club for three shows Nov. 1 and 2. Tickets are $26 at www.jukeboxcomedy.com or by calling 673-5853. Check out our interview in Thursday’s Cue.
