Whatever their reason for collecting, comic book fans of every age, gender, race and creed converged on the comic book convention at the Grand Hotel in Peoria on Sunday to search for buried treasure among the bins of collectibles.
Comic books aren't just about superheroes and supernatural characters running around in costumes, shoppers said; they also delve into social issues and present a unique commentary on current events.
