THE SKABS – Revenge of the Skabs
(Black and Blue Records)
The punk rock feud of the Midwest continues, with Bloody Mess as the Hatfields and the Skabs as the McCoys. Bloody Mess and the Skabs disbanded in 1991 after a variously-explained incident possibly involving indecent exposure and/or underage suctioning.
At any rate (and with Gabby Skab that rate is practically supersonic) these Peorians are relentless in their pursuit of musical mania. The devastatingly thrilling “Hate” (Parts One and Two) packs more of it than you’d think possible. All the way to the last harsh musical cut “Rock Stalker”, these crazed hard core punks make it well worth the price of admission.
Great cover art, too, imitative of another nearby ex-band…for those in the know.
You can’t handle this one – but I double dog dare you to try!
